THE BEGINNING

Born from the loom

Paruthee was born from a singular love: the love for Tamil Nadu's handloom heritage. In a world moving at breakneck speed, we paused to honor the generations of weavers who have kept this ancient craft alive. Our name, "Paruthee," means cotton in Tamil, the fiber at the heart of our story.

We began by walking into the quiet workshops of Kanchipuram and Chettinad, listening to weavers' voices, understanding their struggles, and recognizing the profound artistry in every hand-thrown shuttle. What struck us most was the dignity in their hands and the stories woven into every thread. We realized that creating handloom pieces wasn't just business, it was responsibility.

Today, Paruthee stands as a bridge between these master craftspeople and those who believe in beauty made slowly, with intention, and with reverence for both human and earth.

Our Craft

Every thread tells a story

A Paruthee saree is never rushed. Each piece takes 2 to 6 weeks to create, moving through the hands of multiple artisans. The process begins long before the loom.

We refuse chemical shortcuts. Our natural dye palette speaks of the earth itself. Each pattern emerges from decades of inherited knowledge, passed from grandparent to parent to child.

These are pieces meant to be heirloom treasures, worn again and again, cherished by families across generations.
